National Partnerships for After School Science -- a training and professional development project to increase the capacity of afterschool centers to offer extended, hands-on science projects for elementary aged children.
This clip shows Noe, a prgram leader from Cambridge, MA with little previous experience of this approach to project learning. He is introducing the "Balancing Toys (Explore It)" project to his after school group (with the added pressure of having both a camera crew and the developer of the project in the room with him!).
Noe's personal presentation, his enthusiam, his command of the room and his creative attempts to make connections between the children's prior experience and the current project are all very impressive. How can we use his example to inspire other CBO's and also to help them notice some of the finer points of the skills of introducing a new project to children?
